A performance audit uses advanced testing equipment and is used to develop a comprehensive plan to make your home or business energy efficient, healthy, and comfortable.
Using data on how your home is built by conducting a home performance assessment and measuring it (walls, foundation, roof, mechanicals, etc.), we run calculations on how the components of your home affect energy use. We then run calculations to predict the energy benefits of anticipated home improvements specific to your home.
Improvements such as increased insulation, improved air sealing, window replacement, furnace/boiler replacement, solar installation, and appliance upgrades can be explored to identify the most cost-effective projects.
Energy Modeling for New Construction
Using energy modeling, the architectural and landscape design, solar orientation, construction detailing, and energy performance can be tuned in concert. Invaluable for designing for passive solar, net-zero, and solar-ready homes.
In-House Design Consultation
Have ideas for your home- additions, accessibility/universal design, improved energy efficiency, installation of renewable energy systems, and healthy home concerns? We will spend two hours with you in your home, listening to your ideas, developing an understanding your personal goals, and getting some measurements of your home.
After the in-home visit, we will send back to you a written summary of our ideas and discussions, and include some schematic sketches and other information that will help you move your thinking and planning along.
